Barb Mitchell
Barb Mitchell grew up in Edmonton studying at the University of Alberta, continued her music studies at Mount Royal University in Calgary, and is an Associate with The Royal Conservatory of Music. Barb is the co-founder of Occasional Notes Productions and is a professional musician, teacher, writer and composer. She is the writer and co-producer of the all woman musical “If the Shoe Fits ( 2016 ) and ZooStreet - the Musical (2017). Her passion for teaching children, and inspiring young audiences with engaging music has always been the heart of her career in music . Barb is the screenwriter/Composer/ Lyricist/Producer/Costume Creator/Music director of new stage show turned film, The Candy Cane Kids Holiday Movie. She and brother Bob worked together to create the holly jolly music for this new festive family film produced in 2020. Soundtracks for both ZooStreet and Candy Cane Kids are available on Spotify and Apple Music.
Laurie Parente
Laurie began playing music at the age of six and has a degree from the University of Calgary in Psychology. She also studied with the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Laurie began her studies as an organist and in her teen years found her love for the piano. Laurie values the impact that music can have on young lives. As Co-founder of Occasional Notes, Co-writer and Co-producer of the musical, “If the Shoe Fits”, Co-Producer of “ZooStreet”, and Co-Producer of the family movie “Candy Cane Kids Holiday Musical” Laurie lives her passion for music daily.
Bobby Stagg
Originally from Edmonton but a long time Quebec resident, Bobby Stagg is a musician, composer, educator, and clinician. ZooStreet is an album of original material written, performed, produced, and recorded by Bobby. He is also the composer/musical arranger/producer of the Candy Cane Kids Holiday Movie soundtrack.
